Creating and Configuring a Team

How to create a new team, set its name and description, assign a lead, and configure team-level settings.

Teams are how work is organized in Strova. Each team has its own DSM Board, schedule settings, and member list.

Creating a Team

  1. Go to Team Management in the sidebar.
  2. Click the Teams tab.
  3. Click New Team.
  4. Enter a team name and optional description.
  5. Click Create.

The team is created immediately. You can now add members and configure settings.

Startup plan: You're limited to one active team. If you already have a team, you'll need to upgrade to Business to create another. See Startup plan team limits.

Assigning a Team Lead

After creating the team, assign a lead:

  1. Go to the team's settings page.
  2. Under Members, find the person you want to make lead.
  3. Click their role dropdown and select Team Lead.

A team can have multiple leads. Leads can manage team settings, mark members on leave, and see all team data. See Assigning a team lead for more.

Multi-Project Teams (Business plan)

If your team works across multiple projects and you want to track time per project, enable the multi-project flag in team settings. This activates the Project Hours Tracking feature for the team.

See Multi-project teams for setup details.

Team-Level Schedule Overrides

By default, teams inherit the org's working days, hours, and DSM cutoff settings. You can override these at the team level if your team operates on a different schedule — a remote team in a different timezone, for example.

Go to Team Management → Teams → [Team Name] → Schedule to configure overrides.

See Team-level schedule overrides for the full walkthrough.

Editing a Team

To change a team's name, description, or multi-project setting:

  1. Go to Team Management → Teams.
  2. Click the team name to open its settings.
  3. Edit the fields and save.

Deactivating a Team

If a team is no longer active, you can deactivate it rather than delete it. Deactivated teams preserve their history but remove the team from the active boards and member views.

See Deactivating a team for the steps.
