Readonly Members
What is a Readonly Member?
An explanation of the readonly (viewer) role on the Business plan — what they can see, what they can't do, and how they affect billing.
Readonly members are view-only users on the Business plan. They're designed for stakeholders, executives, clients, or anyone who needs visibility into your team's work without participating in daily standups themselves.
What Readonly Members Can Do
- View the DSM Board for teams they've been given access to
- Browse historical updates and past dates on the board
- View KPI dashboards and employee analytics
- Read weekly AI reports
What Readonly Members Cannot Do
- Submit daily updates
- Leave comments on updates or reply to threads
- Manage teams, members, or org settings
- Access billing settings
How Readonly Members Affect Your Bill
Readonly members do not count as billable seats. You can add as many readonly members as you need at no extra cost — they have zero impact on your monthly or annual invoice.
This makes it practical to give access to:
- Executives who want high-level visibility
- External stakeholders or clients reviewing progress
- Contractors or auditors who need read-only access during a project

Adding a Readonly Member
Readonly status is set at invite time or can be toggled for existing members. See Converting a member to readonly for how to change an existing member's status.
To invite someone directly as readonly, check Invite as Readonly in the invite flow. See Inviting members as readonly.
