Organization Holidays

How to add org-wide holiday dates so members aren't expected to submit standups on those days.

Organization holidays are dates when the whole team is off. On a holiday, no member is expected to submit a standup — no one appears as "Pending" on the DSM Board and the day is treated as a non-working day for everyone.

Adding a Holiday

  1. Go to Settings → Organization → Holidays.
  2. Click Add Holiday.
  3. Select the date from the calendar picker.
  4. Optionally add a name or label (e.g. "Christmas Day", "Bank Holiday").
  5. Save.

The holiday is immediately visible to all org members.

How Holidays Affect the DSM Board

On a holiday date:

  • The DSM Board shows a holiday notice instead of the standard pending/posted layout
  • No members are shown as Pending
  • The coverage calendar marks the day as non-working (grey)

Timeliness on Holidays

Any updates submitted on a holiday are accepted and scored normally — Strova doesn't prevent submission on holidays in case someone chooses to work. However, since it's a non-working day, the timeliness scoring for that day is waived.

Recurring Holidays

Holidays are set per date and don't automatically recur year to year. You'll need to re-add them each year, or add them in advance for future dates.

Removing a Holiday

  1. Go to Settings → Organization → Holidays.
  2. Find the holiday in the list.
  3. Click Remove.

The date reverts to a regular working day. If it's already passed, there's no effect on historical data.

Who Can Manage Holidays?

Only Owners and Admins can add or remove organization holidays. All members can view the holiday calendar.
